From medieval daggers and swords, to medieval shields and helmets, our fascination with medieval weapons and armor from times past lives on today. People often romanticize these tools uses, however make no mistake – they were designed for one purpose – to kill. Medieval daggers were often favored over their larger brethren in situations where concealabilty came at a premium. Today however, both daggers and medieval swords are regarded as prized possessions by their collectors. The protective items in the form of medieval armor, such as helmets and shields, are more rare today among collectors, mainly due to their less deadly purposes. Still, they are readily available for purchase, and remain popular among certain collectors.

A medieval dagger consists of two parts: the hilt and of course, the blade. Fantasy daggers’ hilt’s can be made of many materials. Medieval swords take up a similar makeup. Swords are usually less intricately decorated, though several highly tedious examples are available. Another example of medieval weapons that remains popular today would be medieval axes, though they are certainly less well known when compared to knives and swords.

Defensive examples of medieval armor such as helmets and shields are similar to their weaponry relatives in that they are available in various plain designs, as well as highly decorated. They are generally harder to find than medieval knives, though they are definitely still available.
